When
Windows XP was introduced it opened up new potential
for icon design. XP supports 32bit icons, which
allow them to have vibrant rich colours and anti-aliased
smooth edges, with full transparency support.
Windows
XP also introduced a new style of default icons
for it's operating system. These bright and colourful
icons have become the standard "XP look and
feel" for all applications that wish to intergrate
seemlessly into the operating system.
